On January 25, 2025, 45-year-old Jason Harrell of Indianapolis was arrested after doorbell camera footage captured him assaulting a 14-year-old boy riding a motorized bike in the Heatherwood Estates neighborhood. The video shows Harrell pulling up in a white van, verbally threatening the boy, pushing him off his bike, and punching him while he lay in the snow. Throughout the encounter, the boy remained calm, addressing Harrell respectfully as “sir.”
Following the incident, Harrell was charged with felony intimidation and two misdemeanor counts of battery resulting in bodily injury. He was taken into custody and is currently held in the Marion County Jail without bond. Harrell has pleaded not guilty, and his next court appearance is scheduled for February 25.
