Mike Epps restored his old neighborhood for affordable housing
Mike Epps and Gervonta Davis had the same idea of saving their old neighborhoods. Like Davis, Epps comes from one of the roughest parts of his city. However, Epps’ hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana doesn’t get the same kind of attention as most cities. Unlike most Midwestern cities, Indianapolis is actually growing. But Mike Epps managed to get in there and buy back the neighborhood he grew up in.
Mike Epps, like most people in the entertainment industry, came from humble beginnings. Oftentimes, it’s those beginnings that inspire people like him to do great things. Much of that comes from desiring to have a nicer place to call home. In addition, the good feeling that comes with actually accomplishing that goal makes some want to give back.
Mike Epps made a name for himself making classic movies alongside Ice Cube. Famously, he ended up replacing Chris Tucker on the Friday franchise. In addition, he’s done some other movies with Cube, while fans continue to await the fourth Friday installment. While fans perpetually wait, Mike Epps bought back his Indianapolis neighborhood, restored the homes, and is now providing affordable homes.
