It was surely post early 00s. But pre late 00s where we started to really change the tone of rap forever. And of course the prequel to the trap era.

Not to mention its after things were more lyrical heavy (90s/early 00s) but started getting more monotonous. Nothing compared to late 00s or 10s yet though.

And the beats are unique. You can hear the 00s at its peak in these I linked. You can hear as it comes from the early 00s but is transitioning into something new. Once 06 comes it isnt as hybrid anymore for most hip hop/rap. Why I only pick 04/05. Dope.
