[FIRST IMPRESSIONS] Kendrick Lamar – Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers

The time has finally come. The return of Kendrick Lamar. Once a household staple name, Kendrick has reclused himself from the world looking from afar while steadily looking within at his inner addictions, moral compass, and far from perfect past and present. This album is raw, full of excitement and wonder, but also harsh and polarizing. I’ve been hearing so many different opinions and feelings and it makes it even more beautiful. He gave us something so divisive that it shows just how much of Kendrick we really don’t know. Personally I’m giving it 10/10. From my first listen I almost cried twice and I was overwhelmed from start to finish. If I had to list my favorite songs it’s too long of a list. United in Grief, Worldwide Steppers, Die Hard, Crown, Savior, Mr. Morale, Auntie Diaries, there’s so much Kendrick here it’s unbelievable. 18 for 18 personally and I can’t wait to listen to it more and let it grow.

EDIT Production is top notch this is like a mixture of all his best works in one. The cohesiveness of BP, the pro black and African drums/feel of TPAB, the hood reflections of GKMC, the social issues and self in S:80 & DAMN. He’s been sitting on this for a minute and it was well worth the wait.
