22 Jan DJ Scheme & Juice WRLD Drop “Buck 50” From FAMILY (Finished Edition)
DJ Scheme & Juice WRLD just dropped “Buck 50” ft. Carlton
The pair’s long anticipated collaboration is part of DJ Scheme’s FAMILY (Finished Edition), which also dropped via Scheme Records / EMPIRE. “Buck 50” was originally meant to be included on the initial release of FAMILY on December 4th, hence Scheme’s use of Finished Edition over the ever-popular Deluxe title.
“In all honesty I never really wanted a deluxe because I can’t add to that part of my life. Now that “Buck 50” is out and the album is complete I can manifest new energy and focus on the future.“ – DJ Scheme
The pair originally met in 2017, Juice WRLD and DJ Scheme were instant friends and Scheme quickly hopped on as Juice’s tour DJ. The two spent a year and a half traveling the world, collaborating and learning from one another. Scheme is the first to credit Juice for pushing him to pursue a career as an artist-producer, which ultimately led him on the two year path to completing FAMILY. A brilliant showcase for the late rapper’s mastery of melody and rhymes, the DJ Scheme & Carlton McDowell-produced “Buck 50” is an effortlessly fly banger about Juice’s world-conquering ambitions. A fitting companion piece to “Conversations,” the Scheme-co-produced song from Juice’s posthumous album Legends Never Die, “Buck 50” ends with a poignant guitar solo, putting a fine point on Juice’s words.
