Flo Milli was one of the hottest rising rappers out of 2020 as she became a social media sensation. The Mobile, AL native put out her ‘Ho, Why Is You Here?‘ mixtape in the summer and the only way was up from there.
Milli is now part of a new Beats By Dre commercial where she is seen dancing in front of a Confederate statue. The song being played was her “May I” The caption at the end of the ad said “Flex That Clapback” which had many viewers confused.
When social media saw this ad, many wondered what the point of this was regarding Milli’s role. Some called this embarrassing as well as using Black people for their own gain. Others believed that Milli was part of this simply to make a big check, though.
The ad as a whole ended up promoting the new Beats Flex earbuds. These come in various colors just like the other Beats headphones products. They are also more affordable compared to the other Beats headphones as these go for as low as $49.

i’m glad miss flo milli got her check, but apart from making zero sense, this is another example of corporations monetizing black pain to promote their products that hold no value to helping black people. this is almost as embarrassing as the pepsi ad. https://t.co/7wP9BEN1Gl

It’s my personal mission to find and obliterate whoever set Flo Milli up for failure like this https://t.co/Mhojc1qiKs
