Kodak Black has been in prison for over a year now due to a federal gun case. This was regarding falsifying information on gun applications. The Florida rapper was originally arrested at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami in May 2019.
Kodak has been giving back to his local Broward County community from prison lately though as he helped people get food and gifts for Thanksgiving and Christmas. He recently wrote a motion to prosecutors asking for an early prison release as well as he is currently serving a 46-month sentence. According to VladTV, this was denied.
“Kodak Black has not presented ‘extraordinary and compelling reasons’ supporting his request for release,”said assistant U.S. Attorney Bruce O. Brown. Stated more correction, (Kodak Black) has not presented ANY reason supporting his request for release. He merely states he is not an evil person and promises to participate in community-based programs aimed at helping the ‘younger generation.’ That simply is inadequate pursuant to the statute.”
Kodak’s letter stated how he recognizes his mistakes and he’s not evil. He also took accountability for his actions.
“With all due deference, I come in truth. I acknowledge my mistakes and I take full responsibility for my actions. I am not a evil or demented person. I am salvageble (sic) and I have the ability and potential to live a prosperous and positive life.”
As of now, Kodak won’t be getting released until November 22. Last month, he also put out his first album since going to prison with ‘Bill Israel.’ The title paid homage to his first name and him practicing Judaism.
