Who Is Mike Shoti?

Upcoming artist Mike Shoti discusses “The Bad Guy” album in an interview.

How long have you been doing music?

Mike: I’ve Been doing music since 1998, so that would be 22 Years.

What motivates you to get into that creative writing process?

Mike: To be honest, the resurgence of that 90’s era golden age sound is what inspired me to give it a try again. Artists like Roc Marci, Stove God Cooks, Griselda, and RJ Payne, and my brother Jamaar Milton have been my inspirations for doing music again.

If you were able to collaborate with any of the other artists, who would it be and why?

Mike: RIP Prodigy of Mobb Deep would have been my dream collabo, but as far as artists today, I would say any of the Griselda artists like Conway The Machine. The type of sound they deliver is the sound I grew up on–dark melodies with grimy hard drums topped with hard flows.

What type of message do you have for young artists of today?

Mike: I would tell them to keep evolving with their craft and even if you’re on top, treat it like you’re at the bottom. I would also tell them to leave the streets alone cause the streets don’t love you.

“The Bad Guy” is on all streaming platforms.
