30 Nov Tessa Kaye is a Pop R&B Goddess
Tessa Kaye has only released two songs to date and yet her music is effortless, vibrant and infectious. The young singer has an emotional intelligence that bleeds into her lyrics that is rare in popular music these days. Her latest offering is entitled “You Know Who You Are And I Hate You” and features a variety of genres from pop, alt R&B, soul and even electronica to create a unique release. Thematically, the single is about that fear and anxiety that keeps us up at night and prevents us from going about our normal lives. She brilliantly portrays this dark soul defying emotion in poignant lyrics. Sonically though the song is more upbeat with bright chords and soulful vocals, that makes for an interesting juxtaposition.
The singer-songwriter has had a unique life. She was born in Philadelphia and adopted to parents of the Mormon faith. She grew up in Utah in a mostly white community but left to Los Angeles for music as a young adult. All these influences and experiences has made her into the artist she is today and the listener is left with gratitude for the music she creates.
