Meghan Markle Reveals She Suffered A Miscarriage In July: “I Knew As I Clutched My Firstborn Child, I Was Losing My Second”

TSR Prayers Up: Roommates, we want you all to send love and light to Meghan Markle and her family as she has just revealed that she suffered a great loss over the summer. In a recent op-ed piece for the New York Times, Meghan says she unfortunately lost her second child back in July.

“After changing his diaper, I felt a sharp cramp,” she says about baby Archie. “I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right. I know as I clutched my firstborn child, I was losing my second.”

Meghan describes feeling heartbroken, and realizing that a large number of women suffer from miscarriages and unfortunately do not have the support needed to get through that kind of pain.

“Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few. In the pain of our loss, my husband and I discovered that in a room 100 women, 10 to 20 of them will have suffered from miscarriage,” she writes. “Yet despite the staggering commonality of this pain, the conversation remains taboo, riddled with (unwarranted) shame, and perpetuating a cycle of solitary mourning.”

Meghan Markle also referenced a interview with ITN back in 2019, where she spoke about being “exhausted”, her experience with breastfeeding and “trying to keep a brave face” for the public. The journalist asked if she was OK–something that Meghan said not many people have taken the time to ask her.

Keep Meghan and her family in your prayers during this difficult time, Roomies.
