31 Dec Rapper Lil TJay Arrested For Gun & Marijuana Possession In New York
Roommates just a few days after we reported rapper Lil TJay going live on Instagram during an incident with him and the NYPD, resulting in him being detained—today, the details on his arrest are available.
During the time of the incident, Tjay was filming a music video alongside rapper Fivio Foreign. According to claims, police responded to a call that suggested people were waving guns outside of a Queens housing project.
TMZ reports that TJay was in a vehicle with four other individuals when cops pulled them over for switching lanes without signaling. Their sources confirmed that officers smelled marijuana in the car, which resulted in a search and the discovery of four loaded handguns and a large amount of marijuana.
At that point, neither Tjay nor anyone in the vehicle claimed the firearms or marijuana, so they were all charged with possession charges. They were arrested Wednesday afternoon in Brooklyn and booked for criminal possession of a weapon, marijuana possession, and grand larceny.
With New York having some of the strictest gun laws in the U.S., many left comments in that regard. One commented,” New York is not one of them. Don’t play with her. They keep forgetting, New York is not those other states.”
Another commented in defense to TJay, saying, “When are the police going to understand that they won’t catch a Black man these days without a toolie on them? In fact, it’s a part of the morning routine. Police just trying to make their end of the year quota.”
Roommates, do you think that rappers should be justified for carrying guns?
