Nicki Minaj offers college help to teen who saved mother in attack
Over a week ago, a 14-year-old boy shot and killed 32-year-old Jeremy Brown, in order to help defend his mother, Carlisha Hood. This occurred on June 18 in Chicago, at a local restaurant. An argument ensued, as the man went on to repeatedly punch Hood in the head. As a result, the boy went back into the restaurant with a firearm, and fatally shot Brown.
As a result, the boy and Hood were charged with first-degree murder. However, those charges went on to be dropped, amid backlash from the public. Cook County prosecutors dropped these charges, and cited a lack of evidence. But, Hood has filed a lawsuit against the City of Chicago and several officers. She cited suffering emotional distress.
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is now coming out in support of Hood and her son. She’s just taken to Instagram to say that she wants to help finance the child to go to college, when it’s time for him to do so.
“That 14-year-old boy that backed dat hammer out when that grown ass man was punching his mother in the face as if she were a MAN; is a true hero.”If he wants to go to college, I’d love to help. It’s what ANY son should’ve done for their MOTHER. She raised a dope kid & should be so proud. Also, God knew b4 she knew; that she’d be attacked that day & made sure they had protection on DECK.”
