23 Aug What’s Next For Artist Ol’ Smith
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx, artist Ol’ Smith, born Oelis De Los Santos, didn’t always see himself as having a career as a musician. Despite this, Ol’ Smith claims that there was always a heavy presence of Hip-Hop culture throughout his childhood while growing up on 167th Street and Sheridan Avenue.
Before becoming a major player in the music industry, Ol’ Smith had dreams of becoming a baseball star. He received attention from major universities across the US, and eventually landed in Estherville, Iowa to further pursue his baseball career.
Over time, Ol’ Smith’s love for music began to grow, and he began expressing himself through his music, which led him back to New York where he would pursue a career in the music industry. Through this, he became more disciplined by spending hours in the studio for months at a time gathering music, video footage, and collaborating with artists and producers. It wasn’t long before childhood friend OfficialDrama noticed Ol’ Smith’s potential and began collaborating with him and releasing tracks in the summer of 2017.
From freestyling and having rap battles with his friends as a teen to opening up for A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie in Berlin, Germany, Ol’ Smith shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Looking into the future, Ol’ Smith is looking to grow his platform and business even further, see bigger numbers from his releases, and expand internationally.
