Ever wondered what life was like for Jaleel White after he stopped portraying his popular character Steve Urkel on the hit series “Family Matters?” Well, you’re in luck. His podcast “Ever After with Jaleel White” is getting the TV treatment and fans will get all of the behind-the-scenes deets about his life after starring on a hit TV series. Deets inside…

If you were a black kid who grew up in the 90s, it’s highly likely you were a fan of the hit ABC series “Family Matters,” which hit television screens in 1989. The family sitcom ran for 9 seasons before it wrapped in 1997. However, the show is a cult classic that we still watch till this day.

Steve Urkel (played by Jaleel White) was the epitome of the nerd everyone loved or loved to hate with his thick glasses, tight suspenders, high water pants and multi-colored cardigan sweaters. His character – and his famous slogan “Did I do that?” – became a household name that has stretched across generations.

Since then, Jaleel started a podcast titled “Ever After with Jaleel White” where he opens up about life after “Family Matters.” Now, the podcast is getting the TV treatment.

According to Deadline, “Ever After” will give fans a chance to ride down memory lane with Jaleel as he reminisces on his early days in the industry. Not only that, the actor veteran will give viewers an insight into what life was like after the iconic run as Steve Urkel ended. He’ll share his childhood experience in the entertainment business with an array of fellow child star guests, to discuss how their paths diverged from their early days of fame. The series will be a continuation of the podcast.

We’re here for all the nostalgia feels.

Filming for the project will be set in L.A. The pilot is set to premiere with Beverly Hills 90210’s Brian Austin Green as the first guest. He’s set to share how early days of fame shaped his life and what he went threw as a child star. They’ll also share what life is like for them now.

“The 90’s were a decade where pop culture took flight and were defined by some truly iconic moments that make us more nostalgic than ever. It was also the decade of sitcoms where many child actors got their start,” said Jaleel White.

“Philip Alberstat, my producing partner, and I thought it would be exciting to create a show where we would reach out to some of TV’s most famous child actors and see where they are now, how they dealt with fame, growing up famous and what the future holds for them. The podcast series enabled us to have deep, meaningful conversations with many actors and now we are even more excited to have a TV pilot ready for viewing,” he continued.
