12 Mar Amid Sharon Osbourne’s Backlash Holly Robinson Peete Alleges That Sharon Thought She Was ‘Too Ghetto’ For ‘The Talk’
On Friday, former talk show co-host Holly Robinson Peete alleged that Sharon Osbourne thought she was ‘ghetto’ and shortly after, she was no longer on the show.
In a tweet, Holly stated, “I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too ‘ghetto’ for ‘The Talk’…then I was gone,” Peete tweeted on Friday. “I bring this up now [because] I was mortified watching the disrespectful condescending tone she took [with] her co-host who remained calm & respectful…she HAD to.”
Holly took to Instagram and also said, “Sometimes …you have to say things with your whole entire chest. Sometimes saying things with your whole chest is your only option. I’ve always been a highroad girl but when I watched what everyone else saw on my former show @thetalkcbs it triggered me and I wanted to speak out.” Holly continued, “Much respect to Sheryl Underwood who really should’ve been able to express her emotions on TV however she wanted to. It was also not her job to educate a grown woman. I have always felt that ignoring, defending excusing or amplifying racism, bigotry and discrimination is unacceptable. When you know better you are supposed to do better.”
Holly’s comments echo her former co-host, Remini’s, comments from 2011. Remini also alleged that Sharon wanted them both fired because they were ‘ghetto’ according to Hollywood Reporter.
These remarks come just a day after Sharon and her fellow co-host Sheryl Underwood had a conversation about Sharon supporting Piers Morgan after his remarks about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey..
As previously reported, Piers Morgan stated, “I expect all this vile destructive self-serving nonsense from Meghan Markle, but for Harry to let her take down his family and the Monarchy like this is shameful,” he tweeted on Sunday night.
He also stated Monday on his show, “He’s been spray-gunning his entire family on global TV as Prince Phillip lies in hospital,” said Morgan, adding, “I see right through them,” and that “Prince Charles has been bankrolling that couple for the last 5 years.”
“America is trashing our country and trashing our monarchy now,” Morgan added.
