Sasha Goat is a Miami Based DJ, record producer, investor, explorer, Chinese Superbowl Champion, and owner of Society Goat a marketing and PR agency. That’s quite the mix of interests however one thing for certain is that what he’s doing is working and he’s a heck of a personality to pull all of this together reaching a global audience.
We wanted to know more about his DJ experience and what brought him to the industry, stepping from behind the board to center stage so to speak and thus we got Sasha to weigh in on a few things but before we talk to him here’s a taste of what he puts down in one of his sets:
What brought you to the DJ culture?
I was always into music but didn’t know much about EDM. My boys growing up were much more into it than me. But one night they convinced me to go to a show, and after that I was hooked. I think it was Deadmau5
Describe your style?
My style is any party music! I love playing all genres and got really used to it playing long sets in college for all crowds. If you really want to describe my music though, I would say Groovy Deep House.
What was the first record you started scratching and mixing on the turntables?
10 years ago was my first attempt at djing. It’s crazy to think that I specifically remember playing Avicii Levels at the first party I Djed. It was a banger!
You are a pretty diverse DJ, describe the music scene in your neck of the woods?
Miami is known for it’s deep deep house nights. Don’t be surprised if you see me with sunglasses.
Who and what are your influences?
Every fellow producer has an influence on me. Diplo for sure is my role model. I love how he has transformed DJing into more of a performance that’s interactive with the crowd. I have some fire ideas for us. HMU
What artists are you listening to right now?
Dom Dolla, Pickle, Black V Neck, Macrolev, Afrojack is still my boy
Who would you like to work with in the future?
Would love to work with Chris Lake because anything he touches is gold.
What would be the steps you would take as a Dj to Break an artist in your area?
Just keep networking. Thats’ the key.
Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!”
Haha is that a meme? I don’t know
