Donald Trump Asks His Supporters To ‘Go Home In Peace’ After They Cause Chaos Inside & Outside Of The Capitol Building

The final days of Donald Trump’s presidency is definitely one for the books as the unthinkable continues to take place. On Wednesday, the U.S. Capitol Building was breached as Pro-Trump demonstrators made their way inside and became violent with Capitol police as they pushed the Senate to not certify the election for President-elect Joe Biden.

Photos and videos flooded social media as it showed the violent encounters the occurred both inside and outside of the building. At one point police were in an armed standoff with the rioters as they shot inside and shattered glass as they made their way inside.

There were also reports of a woman who was left in critical condition after reportedly being shot in the chest while on the Capitol grounds.

As the chaos continued to erupt, many people were wondering if Donald Trump would address the rioters, and eventually, he did.

In a video posted to his official Twitter account, Trump addressed his supporters as he continued to make false claims about the presidential election. He said, “I know your pain. I know you’re hurt. We had an election that was stolen from us. It was a landslide election, and everyone knows it. Especially the other side, but you have to go home now.”

He continued to say, “We have to have peace, we have to have law and order, we have to respect our great people in law and order. We don’t want anybody hurt. It’s a very tough period of time, there’s never been a time like this where such a thing happened where they could take it away from all of us. From me, from you, from our country. This was a fraudulent election, but we can’t play into the hands of these people.”

He ended things off by saying, “We love you, you’re very special. You’ve seen what happens, you see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil. I know how you feel, but go home and go home in peace.”

Trump’s video was of course immediately flagged by Twitter as they disputed his claim of election fraud. Eventually the video was completely removed from the platform.
